    * I’ve been keeping track of my HART-Empire Network Earnings Online ..

Here is the link: HART-Empire Network Earnings Spreadsheet Document

The earnings are on an “Accrual” basis, where I’m documenting what I’ve earned, but monies will usually come in the following month, or (if ever) when I reach the minimum threshold for release of my earnings for payment. The expenditures are on a “Cash” basis, as I pay something related to my online earnings, I just load up the spreadsheet and modify it.

    Reflection

April 2008 was another positive growth month, earnings-wise .. despite that the traffic growth was a negative for April 2008. According to the statistics, April 2008 was 190.13% of January 2008 earnings, and 117.3% of March 2008 earnings. I am not unrealistic and think that each month the earnings can grow by a similar percentage, if I put my mind to it .. but I wonder what would happen if I could maintain a 15% monthly growth rate… Then, my monthly earnings could look like this:

    April $1,872
    May $2,153
    June $2,476
    July $2,847
    August $3,274
    September $3,765
    October $4,330
    November $4,980
    December $5,726

Now .. I like that $5,726 figure in December x 12 could be = $68,718/year! 😀 Realistically, however .. I need new structure and planning to achieve this growth .. better content, new writing staff, more traffic and promotion, and higher priced ad spots that I have been getting.

I still think this is possible, and being hooked into the Adify network and CPM sponsorship has opened my eyes a little to this possibility. I need the HART-Empire Network to grow. I have yet to be paid from them, and still don’t expect to start receiving payments until June or July… but, at least I accrue.

Regarding expenses, although it looks positive net income, cash flow is different from net income. I will be expanding and hiring more writers starting June 1st though, and despite my adversity to the automatic renewing of domains by my registrar .. I have a lot going through this month – and I think I will renew them one final year .. just to be sure I don’t need them, and to protect the domain. Maybe I’ll just park them this time 🙂

If you weren’t aware, I am an accountant and income tax preparer in my ‘day-job’ and the first half of the year is always more concentrated for me .. for instance:

February – I do most of my client’s T4/T4A/T5/WCB reporting
April 30th – Deadline for personal income tax
June 15th – Deadline for Self-Employed personal income tax
June 30th – Final Deadline for Corporations with December 31 year ends.

Although you don’t have to file until 6 months after the corporate fiscal year end, most covenants by banks and lenders request to receive their financial statements within 90-120 days after the year end. Also, sometime before I can complete the T4’s and file personal tax returns, I need to actually complete company’s year ends first .. so, you can imagine how busy it can get!

Well .. this year was one of my busiest. However, for blogging purposes – I think I survived. Thankfully, I have a great team of bloggers in the Battling For Health series of blogs (which I hope to expand upon over the next couple of months) and help with my PetLvr blog this past week by Ruth .. and April 2008 was only a slight set-back.

Surprisingly, when I look back at the same period, February 2007 to May 2007 .. the traffic didn’t really slow down as much as I remember it did – although, the numbers is much less 🙂 At least I can say that after a year later.

Meanwhile …work-ethics-wise .. I’m still beat, and finding it tough to get back into the ‘blogging’ arena again. I averaged about 2.5 hour sleep per day for April, and that includes getting the odd 6 hours once every 3 days ..

I am burnt out. I still have lots of work that should have been finished April 30th. I still have lots of work planned and scheduled for post-April 30th.
